Calling All Young Archers! Discover Your Strength at "The Way of the Bow" Camp

Everything You Need to Plan a Stress-Free Summer Camp Experience

Welcome to the most epic summer adventure in Atlanta! At "The Way of the Bow" Archery Camp, young archers (ages 8 and up) get ready for an experience that’s equal parts thrill, skill, and personal power. Located in Dunwoody, GA, our Alpharetta campgrounds set the perfect scene for campers to dive into the ancient art of archery.

Here’s everything you need to know about this summer’s top camp destination!

Why Choose "The Way of the Bow"?

Our summer camp is more than just hitting targets. It’s about growth, confidence, and personal empowerment. Each archer learns how to breathe, focus, and release—both on the archery range and in life! From grounding and centering techniques to hands-on archery form, this camp is built to teach valuable life skills.

What’s Included in Your Archery Camp Experience?

Mastering the Shot Cycle: We start with the basics and work up, helping each archer build strong form, steady aim, and an understanding of the art and science behind each shot.

Make Your Own Arm Guard:  Because nothing says “I’m a serious archer” like your own custom gear! Each camper creates a custom leather arm guard to take home.

Archery Strength and Stamina:  Archery is all about form and focus, and we guide young archers in building the strength and skills to hit their goals, no matter where they aim.

Summer Camp Essentials: What to Bring

Packing is key for a great camp day! Make sure your archer arrives each day with:

  • Comfortable Clothing and Sneakers - They’ll be moving and aiming, so stretchy and cool clothing is ideal.
  • Backpack & Sunscreen - Sun protection is a must for those days on the range!
  • Lunch & Snacks - Send a non-perishable lunch and two snacks. Don’t forget a water bottle—we keep the refills coming!
  • Camp Shirt - Each camper receives a T-shirt during their first week. Make sure you provide their size when registering!

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Times

Parents, we’ve got you covered with easy drop-off and pick-up!

Location: Atlanta Archery Club North Range, 4805 Tilly Mill Rd, Dunwoody, GA

Drop-Off: 11 am

Pick-Up:  4 pm

Safety Comes First at "The Way of the Bow"

Safety is our top priority. Every camper learns the importance of range etiquette and respect, with coaches ensuring everyone feels secure and supported. Archers who cannot follow the Range Rules or who jeopardize the safety and well-being of other campers and staff will be asked to leave and will be refunded.

If we need to advise your archer about his/her behavior, we will do so and connect with you (parent or guardian) at pickup that day. We encourage each archer to grow in the experience of gathering themselves so they can continue and participate. If they continue to be unable to follow range rules and etiquette, we will, unfortunately, have to ask him/her to leave and hopefully grow from that experience.

Ladies, Take Aim! Why Archery is the Perfect Sport for Women and Girls Hey there, fellow archers and aspiring arrow-slingers! It’s me, Sarah, and I’m here to share why archery for women and girls isn’t just a sport — it’s a total game changer. Now, I know what you might be thinking: "Archery? Isn’t that kind of medieval?" or "But I’m not exactly Katniss Everdeen..." Let me tell you — archery is anything but outdated , and you don’t need to be a superhero to fall in love with it. Empowerment Through Archery: Feel Strong, Focused, and Fierce There’s something powerful about picking up a bow and taking aim. Whether you're hitting bullseyes or just starting out, archery empowers women with: Strength and confidence Mental focus and control A sense of accomplishment You’ll learn to trust yourself and your instincts — and that kind of strength carries over into all aspects of life. Leveling the Playing Field: Why Archery Welcomes All Unlike many sports, archery doesn’t depend on size, speed, or brute strength . What matters most? Technique - Focus - Consistency. That’s why girls and women can excel at all levels , from beginner practice to national competitions. In archery, everyone truly competes on equal ground. Skills That Stick: Confidence, Discipline, and Focus Learning to shoot a bow teaches more than target skills. You gain life skills like: Patience Perseverance Focus under pressure Whether you’re tackling school, work, or life challenges, archery builds mental resilience you’ll carry forever. Archery Builds Confidence — One Arrow at a Time Each time you step up to the line, you grow. As your aim improves, so does your self-esteem. You begin to believe in your abilities — not just at the range, but in everything you do. Confidence and self-worth? That’s a pretty sweet bonus. A Sisterhood of Support: Women in the Archery Community The archery community for women and girls is inspiring and welcoming. At local clubs, JOAD programs, and competitions, you’ll find: Encouraging mentors Motivated peers Lifelong friendships You’ll never feel like you’re on this journey alone.
