Celebrating the Heart, Passion, and Stories Behind Atlanta Archery Club

At Atlanta Archery Club, every arrow tells a story — a story of courage, discovery, growth, and community. Our range welcomes archers of all ages and backgrounds, each bringing their own spark of excitement and curiosity. Today, we shine a spotlight on some of the incredible individuals who stepped onto the range for their Try Archery experience and walked away inspired.

These moments remind us why AAC exists: to provide a welcoming space where people can learn, connect, and feel proud of their progress.

Meeting Sarah: A First-Time Archer with Big Excitement

When Sarah arrived at the range, she had no idea just how transformative her session would be. After completing her Try Archery class, she couldn’t contain her joy.

“I had an amazing time. This is exactly what I was looking for, and I wish class never ended… Amazing instructors, beautiful energy and vibes — just wonderful and grounding.”

For Sarah, archery wasn’t just an activity — it was an experience that blended focus, energy, and encouragement. She left the range not only with newfound skills but also with a strong desire to return.

“This is the best thing ever. I can’t wait to be back.”

Her enthusiasm is the kind of energy that fuels our community and inspires new archers to give the sport a try.

A Trio of New Archers: Madison, Visilly, and Naz

Coach Yale had the pleasure of training three vibrant and fearless new archers during another Try Archery session. From the moment they stepped onto the range, their excitement was contagious.

When asked if they had a great time, all three responded with an enthusiastic:

“Amazing! Yes! 100%!”

Slowing Down and Tuning In

One of the archers shared a powerful insight many beginners discover quickly:

“Once you really focus and remember to engage, breathe, and take your time… you shoot better when you're fully engaged.”

In a world that often feels rushed, archery becomes a rare moment of stillness — a sport where calmness becomes strength.

Visilly Journey: From YouTube Inspiration to the AAC Range

Naz's story is especially inspiring. After discovering one of our coaches on YouTube, he felt drawn to the sport and decided to give it a try.

What he found exceeded every expectation.

“It was a great experience… definitely exceeded my expectations and not as hard as I thought.”

Through grounding, proper breathing, and guided support from his coach, Basil saw immediate improvement — and left the session deeply grateful.

“I started shooting so much better. I’m just so thankful to actually be here… You are a great teacher. 10 out of 10!”

He emphasized how comfortable and welcomed he felt, a feeling we strive to create for every single person who visits the Atlanta Archery Club.

“They really make you feel comfortable. Anyone can do it.”

Corporate Teams Finding Fun and Connection

Atlanta Archery Club isn’t just for individual archers — corporate teams also find the range a perfect space for team-building, friendly competition, and fun.

Take Regina Bennett, who attended as part of a company outing:

“We came out today as a division outing. We’re a home builder with a very large footprint, so all of us came together to shoot arrows, try to hit targets, and have a little friendly competition. It’s been a really great team-building event for everyone.”

Regina shared that even amidst an ongoing tournament, the group had a blast:

“I hit the board — I didn’t get any golds — but I definitely hit the target. My team won’t be going home with the trophy, but we will be going home with a great time and lots of stories to share.”

Similarly, Melanie Foster shared her experience with corporate archery:

“I actually did fantastic — much better than I thought I was going to. The instructors are very, very nice, and they really explain that it’s about posture, pushing forward, and drawing your arm nice and high. I’ve really enjoyed the experience, and I’m glad I did it.”

Melanie reflected on the fun, immersive nature of the day:

“It’s been a fun day — a brilliant day. It always is, and I’m very grateful. I’m optimistic about winning the trophy — let’s say yes, why not?”

Her previous experience as a child in the UK was surpassed by the quality of instruction and overall atmosphere at AAC:

“This experience has been much better — the tuition is far better than what I had back then.”

These moments — the laughter, the learning, the breakthroughs — are what shape the soul of Atlanta Archery Club.

Every archer knows that archery isn’t just about hitting the target—it's about discipline, focus, and self-awareness. Interestingly, the same care you give to your bow and arrows mirrors the care you give to yourself. When you take the time to maintain your gear, you’re also building habits of consistency, patience, and respect for the craft. At Atlanta Archery Club, we believe that archery gear maintenance is not just about equipment—it's part of your growth as an archer.
